Mindful Moment: Positive Affirmations

Positive Affirmation Practice

Think of a positive affirmation that you can say to yourself this morning to set the intention for the day. If you are unable to think of one, I have provided a few below.

"I am doing the best that I can."

"My body is healthy and can do great things."

"I am enough."

Once you have decided on a statement that you connect with. Find a mirror. Look yourself in the eyes and repeat the statement three times. Let go of judgements that may arise. Thoughts about your body, and how you feel about yourself may arise. Acknowledge them as a judgement and then let them pass by... this is the most challenging part of this exercise.

Why do we do it?

The way you speak to yourself has a drastic impact on how you experience your day. Did you know that our brains are designed to notice negative moments in our day much more often than positive ones? While there are many positive experiences that happen to find their way into our day, we are also responsible for contributing some.

I challenge you to complete this practice daily for the next 14 days. Reflect on the feelings that arise during and after and the changes you may see over time. Does this mindfulness exercise fit well with your intentions? Check out our social media platforms for weekly mindful moments!
